Unique Workforce Challenges
Guest Supply faced compounding issues of poor staffing levels and inventory surpluses. They had a backlog of orders in the system they could not fulfill, which meant lost revenue and their customers’ potential to seek out other suppliers. They contacted SASR for a third-shift selection team to supplement an experienced workforce and help process the excess product without hiring their own team.
SASR identified the solution, dispatched their teams within two weeks, and was given full access to the Illinois and Ohio warehouse sites without client operations oversight. In a timely and efficient manner, SASR’s warehouse workforce selected, surveyed, replenished, loaded, and unloaded products to the warehouse.
Under SASR’s leadership, Guest Supply quickly improved fill rates and offered customized expertise to its clients by removing excess inventory and increasing the volume of outbound units. Due to the success of this operation, the client asked SASR to staff a new location in Charlotte, NC, on a year-long contract with the potential of a three-year contract. What started as a five-person team for four weeks quickly grew to a workforce of twenty-two workers for eight months of successful work.
